Terrible twos? Or a bad day (or two, or three...)?
Yesterday was te worst day of Ellie's life, for me! My sweet little girl tested everything and anything yesterday. Nothing was good enough, everything I did or said was wrong, she hit, kicked, screamed. You name it, yesterday was the day. At 7:00 (at night) I finally had enough and literally walked out the door. I was convinced she hated me and was crying like a baby. Ok, I can say it's my hormones. But, it was a really bad day. She was a different person today. We had fun at playgroup this morning. She listened and had no accidents all day. When it was nap time she got in bed and went to sleep (2-1/2 hours)!!! Tonight she went to Grandma's house and Jeff and I got to go out. We hadn't realized how long it had been and we really needed it. It was great. Ellie was so happy to see us and had seen Dad all day because she woke up after he left for work this morning. So, she had to fill him in on her entire day. Now she is sacked out and Jeff is working. Me, I have my feet elevated because for the first time in either pregnancy my feet are swollen and they hurt. UGH! Me, I am j ust going to relax and read a magazine. AAHH!

My little girl is all better!
Whew! What a week! I am not used to staying in all the time. I guess it was a good week to do it since all it did was rain. Ellie's fever finally broke Friday night and then she got a rash Saturday. Those are the two symptoms of Roseolla. But by yesterday afternoon she was at the Community Picnic playing in the splash pad. When I got home after breaking down the MOMS Club booth she was full speed ahead playing and that is when I knew she was finally coming out of this! It was so good to see her having so much fun I didn't want to be the one to cut it short to put her to bed. But I knew she still needed more rest. She slept good. Jeff and I, on the other hand, stayed up until 12:30 watching movies! UGH! We are dragging a little this morning. We rented Wild Hogs and we both got a kick out of that and really laughed and then we watched Perfect Strangers with Halle Berry and Bruce Willis...weird!

Gotta love a child's spirit!
I love that Ellie has a great spirit and is usually in good spirits. She has been fighting a high temp since late Tuesday night. She hasn't had her normal energy, but she has been in a good mood and still talking up a storm. Went to the doc this morning and she has rosella. Basically a fever and she will get some sort of skin rash. She has a little be her ear, but not much. Doc said she should be better in a couple of more days. Nothing you can take for it. So, we are just riding this one out and watching movies. We are so bummed we missed kids bowling this morning, can't wait to hear about it.

Rainy day!
Well, we had a great rainy day. Ellie stayed in her pj's all day and me in my sweats until after supper when we went to test drive a car. For those of you who are bored with hearing about my car shopping, I think we have come to an end. I am just as happy as anyone...I am so tired of car shopping! Although Ellie thinks it is great fun and asks when we are going to look at another car.
After the very trying weekend with a 2 year old who I thought "this is terrible twos", today was great. We played alot and watched some movies. Peter Pan and Charlottes Web seem to be in with her right now. Definately better then Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Frankly I have seen or heard her movies so many times we could use a n ew one. Any suggestions anyone!?
Here is a picture of Ellie in her new rainboots. She got try them out yesterday. We went out and played in puddles and rode bikes. Today we opted for staying in, although I had to hide her boots. Otherwise she just wanted to go out in the puddles. Thankfully she was in a better mood, as was I! And in bed and asleep by 8! YEAH!

It's about time!!
Ok, so I am WAY overdue! Thanks Rachel for reminding me!
Where do I begin...
We've spend many weekends this summer enjoying the lake house. Ellie is getting more and more confident with her "swimming" in the lake. She has been jumping off the pier and walking around without help. The water can get a little rough when the boats are out and it is easy for her to get knocked off her feet. We have also been enjoying doing all the MOMS Club activities. Playgroups are a given and we try to do most everything else, just doesn't always happen, but most of the time it does.
Ellie is really into knowing people's names. And now she wants to know last names. And lately she has been asking me what time it is. I don't know why...I don't usually refer to time with her. She is starting to learn how to spell her name. She knows the E-L-L part and the rest gets a little jumbled.
We finally, after about 18 months, seem to be over the separation anxiety. She doesn't cry and just kisses me goodbye when she is left at Grandma's or Miss Heidi's house. So far those are the only places she has stayed without mom or dad. Miss Heidi has the best toys and Grandma has been making cookies with her, so she has been liking that.
We have been home all month and it has been nice. We are trying to catch up on house projects, get our pre-winter projects done and get ready for baby Shelby. Yes, that is her name. Most of you probably know that by now. September is going to be a crazy month for us and that only leaves about 6-7 weeks. So, we've got to get moving!
Today was the MOMS Club family picnic. I think there were 7 family's there and it was a good time. The kids loved the park and the weather was perfect. I enjoyed meeting the familys and spending time with some of the moms I don't see very often.
Ok, no promises on posting more often...but I will try!
